India Goes Digital for Climate Action
India has launched two platforms, the Net Zero Portal and the NAPCC Dashboard to track corporate and government climate commitments. Companies will now publicly disclose their net zero strategies, while the dashboard will consolidate the progress of national climate missions across government ministries.
This move places India alongside global leaders: the EU’s Climate Data Portal, the UK’s Net Zero Dashboard, and the US EPA’s GHG Reporting Program already provide similar digital oversight. By combining corporate disclosures with national mission tracking, India’s approach creates a coordinated ecosystem that aligns with its net zero 2070 target.
The success of these platforms will determine how effectively India can integrate sustainability into both policy and practice, setting a precedent for other emerging economies.
